I'm Bloomberg's Ukraine Reporter, in particular covering the defense industry, new weapons tech, cyberdefense and the galaxy of political concerns surrounding all of the above.

Born and raised in western Michigan. I speak fluent Russian and Ukrainian. Logistics and interviews all own; have never used a fixer/interpreter. Also strong Arabic and Dutch. I travel light. 

 

Previously a defense reporter at the Kyiv Independent, with prior pubs in Radio Free Europe, Fortune, Breaking Defense, Science Magazine, FT's Sifted, the Cipher Brief, and the Foreign Policy Research Institute. Work has been cited by the New York Times, Ukrainska Pravda, and US Congress, among other places.
